Terms & Conditions
Effective Date:
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the CS-Guardian system (“System”), a cloud-security tool developed to detect publicly accessible or misconfigured Google Cloud Storage buckets. By accessing or using the System, you (“User”) agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the System immediately.
2. Purpose of the System
The System provides scanning, analysis, and reporting functions to assist Users in identifying security risks, misconfigurations, and potential data exposures within Google Cloud Storage environments. The System is strictly intended for legitimate security assessment and risk-mitigation purposes.
3. User Consent and Authorization
- Confirm you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms together with the accompanying Privacy Policy.
- Authorize the System to access and scan your Google Cloud Storage buckets using your provided Google account credentials or, where applicable, the System’s service account.
- Acknowledge that scan results including metadata, file listings, sample files, and risk analysis may be stored in the System’s database for reporting and auditing.
- Understand that enabling Ethical Mode allows the System to attempt file listing, downloading, or metadata extraction where technically permitted, and that such mode may only be activated by authorized project owners or administrators.
4. Data Handling and Privacy
The System processes and stores data solely for the purpose of performing security scans and risk assessments. Scan results may include bucket configurations, risk scores, sensitive keywords, and limited file samples (if Ethical Mode is enabled). Personal data and credentials are handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Users may revoke consent at any time.
5. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to authorize scans. Misuse, including unauthorized access or data collection, may violate Malaysian law such as the Computer Crimes Act 1997 and the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
6. Limitations of Liability
The System is provided “as is” without warranties. CS-Guardian shall not be liable for any damages arising from use or inability to use the System.
7. Security and Compliance
The System assists in identifying risks but does not guarantee compliance. Users remain responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws including PDPA 2010 and other Malaysian regulations.
8. Termination
Access may be suspended or terminated if consent is revoked or if misuse or violation of these Terms is detected.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Malaysian courts.
